Do you ever struggle with making your house feel wonderful? Kind of special and shiny and comfortable all at once? Have you looked at all the wonderful decorator items in the shops but don’t know where to start?
I’ve found that to make a house feel wonderful and “homelea” is to fill it with things you love. Things that you are drawn to, that make you feel special. Colours and textures that you like. But not to many of them, otherwise it ends up feeling cluttered.
Start slowly with one or two pieces, then after a while add a few more items. It could be a throw rug, a vase, fresh flowers, a new cushion or maybe even a new chair. Rearrange to your hearts content, and maybe send a few older items that you don’t love so much to Vinnies. Or perhaps put a few things that you can’t part with but aren’t working away in a cupboard. It takes time.
We’ve been living in our city pad for a couple of months now and I’m slowly rearranging it to feel wonderful and comfortable. It’s a fully furnished apartment with good bones so all I’ve had to do is play with a few decorative items. I’ve brought a few things from Homelea that I love and have worked them in with what’s already in the apartment. I’ve also started making a few things as well. It’s been fun and I’ve taken some photos so you can see what I’ve come up with so far.
